Riding Percy Warner
Jun 2010 03

My shoulder is still messed up from my accident, but I’ve been getting back on the bike this week and getting some good rides in at Percy Warner Park. It has definitely become my favorite place for road rides. There is a 1 mile, 6 mile, 9 mile, and 11 mile loop. I haven’t done the nine mile, but the rest make for great rides. It’s perfect on really hot days too; I swear the temperature drops 10 degrees once you get in there. I wouldn’t suggest doing the longer ones fixed though; I’ve done it before and it was pretty miserable (it is a lot of climbing with up to 20% grades). If you’re looking for a good ride and want to climb some hills, I would definitely check it out. I typically ride out from the Hillsboro Village area, which makes the total route anywhere from 30 to 50 miles.

ha thanks. i need to put my clipless pedals back on, but i've been commuting on this bike a lot lately and don't really want to wear cycling shoes to class.
