Cinelli Mash0

Long story short, I was anticipating my ESB being ready before Summer Fix LA, but because mine will be a newer version, there are a few things we’re still waiting on before it’s ready. Since I left for Vegas a few weeks ago and didn’t really plan for this, I was left in a pretty bad spot in terms of having a bike for L.A. However, Cinelli (especially Ben) seriously saved the day and sent me a Cinelli Mash with a trick fork. Keith and I built up the bike yesterday with the parts for my ESB and test rode it at the West Side Ride. So far I’m loving it! Keep reading for a more detailed write up.

I really have to say, I’ve been thinking about the switch to a steel frame a lot lately, and while I’m really excited for my ESB to get here, I also really like riding a light frame. I think one of the few advantages of being smaller than most riders is that I haven’t had any problems with frames and parts breaking. I’m really confident in Columbus tubing and how Cinelli makes their bikes, and I can honestly say that I have never had the slightest issue, even with my carbon fork. I recognize that this probably won’t be the case for most of the guys, but honestly, I’m not convinced that a steel frame is preferable to an aluminum frame (that is, if it is actually a well made bike) for tricking for smaller riders. Anyways, all I can say is what I like, and I’m having a lot of fun riding this bike, and I just want to say thanks again to Cinelli and Ben! I also have to thank Profile and Velocity. So much love.
