Before I left town, I caught the newly formed Freebase Masons playing their first show at Springwater Supper Club. They’re pretty different, so get out there and check them out! You have a chance to see them play a house show tonight in the Boro. More photos here.

I was able to scoop a media pass for the My Chemical Romance, Circa Survive, and The Architects show at The House of Blues in Vegas last weekend. Big thanks to Keenan for helping me out! Here are a few of the shots I got of Circa Survive. Check the rest out here.

Here are a few of the photos I took of My Chemical Romance during their show at the Las Vegas House of Blues on May 29, 2011. The show was part of MCR’s World Contamination Tour promoting their latest album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. I have quite a few shots, so go check the rest out here.

With the amount of energy filling the room, you would be pretty surprised to find out that Funeral Party wasn’t the headliner this past Saturday at the House of Blues in Vegas. Rather than the usual impatient stances, background conversations, and crossed arms you often see in abundance during opening acts, nearly every one in the crowd had thrown their hands in the air and were clapping and jumping in unison. In short, after seeing Funeral Party live, I went away really liking them; they put on a seriously awesome show. Continue reading for the rest of my review and more photos. Fun’s name truly fits them perfectly. They seriously are a lot of fun! With a six person group and multiple keyboards and synthesizers, they really fill up the stage. Despite this, they seem far from limited as every one in the band is constantly moving throughout the stage with the crowd following suit, dancing, thrashing, and jumping around in the packed floor of the Las Vegas House of Blues. Fun really brings a lot to their performance; both musically and visually, there is a lot going on. It seemed like every member of the band was grabbing my attention all at once; I was literally running back and forth while shooting in an attempt to capture everything that was going on around me. The experience of a Fun show is kind of a sensory overload, but in a really enjoyable sort of way. Continue reading for the rest of my review and more photos. Not a whole lot needs to be said about Panic! at the Disco. They are definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. The first time I saw them play was six years ago at a small local venue called The Alley (really it was just the back room of the Family Music Center on W. Sahara). Interestingly enough, it was actually their first ever live performance. A lot has changed since then, and despite their fairly recent split from founding member Ryan Ross, I really have to say, the changes are all very positive. Cinespia Screening of The Warriors
Jun 2011 30

While in L.A., Keith and I went with our friend Sean to a night screening of the cult classic and my personal favorite, The Warriors, in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The event, hosted by Cinespia, brought in hundreds of attendants, many in Warrior themed costumes, and featured a d.j. set by Cut Chemist, a photo booth, and unlimited free play on vintage pinball machines. Continue reading for more of my event recap as well as photos of both the event and the cemetery itself. You can also check out my Flickr for the full photo set.
