Keith and I rode in the Country Cat yesterday. I took a fast, hard turn right thinking we were making the turn… as it turned out, we weren’t. I wrecked fairly badly (about halfway through the race), flipped over my handlebars (i.e. my signature move). I got up and kept going to finish in fifth (Crouch got first as usual, then some road bike guy in lycra, Richard, and Justin, who I should have beaten). I could have/should have done better, but at least I know I can hang with the boys.

A few pictures from the second Northern Ride. There was a giant hole that wrecked Ian and I (we were in the front). It was too dark to see until you got right next to it. I saw Ian flip over his handlebars when he crossed what I thought to be the shadow I was seconds away from. I didn’t realize an entire section of the road had been sawcut out until it was too late. Keith was right behind me and somehow managed to jump it. I got some scrapes and bruises, but nothing too serious.

I really wanted to ride on Monday (August 3, 2009) to clear my head and expel some energy, but honestly did not want to drive all the way out to Southern Highlands for the SOHI ride. Aaron and I decided we’d ride the North side of town since that’s where we live and there hasn’t ever been an organized group ride in this area. He posted the meet up time/place, we had a pretty good turnout, and it ended up being a really fun ride. It’s looking like this might become a weekly event!

My 20th birthday was awesome! I basically got a three day party. Keith and I went out for his sister’s birthday on Sunday night (her and I have the same birthday) and had a total blast. I made Keith sing karaoke because he’s so cute when he does it, and I did some ridiculous dance with Carey. Then Monday we woke up and some of us rode to Whit’s parents’ house for an awesome pool party. Then we rode home, got ready, and Riley, Keith, and I went to Bricktops for dinner. After dinner we went to the red bench, met up with every one, and rode to the 5spot. Every one (mostly) I actually wanted to be there was there, and I danced like crazy and had SO much fun (except when I started showing off and ate it doing leg over the bar skids outside). Blake accidentally poured her beer all over me while I wad dancing at one point, and I showed Chris up with my awesome backbend. Then Sunday morning Keith and I woke up, went to McDonalds and got Riley breakfast. After breakfast we did the greenway ride over to Opry Mills. We ate lunch, raced gokarts, walked around the Opryland Hotel, went on a boatride inside Opryland, then did the greenway ride back, went to The Melting Pot, and then played lazertag. Overall, three amazing days in a row.

Bonnaroo was unbelievably awesome. I can’t even go on to explain everything that happened (rather, I don’t feel like going into detail on every story because there are just too many). It was just way too fun and definitely one of the best weekends (four days) ever. We are definitely going again next year.
