I have been so nostalgic for Nashville lately. I love living in New York, but I’ll always miss those sweaty days and sweatier nights riding bikes, packing into The End for friends’ shows, fucking shit up, and staying out until day-light. Fortunately, one thing that hasn’t changed at all since my NYC-relocation is getting to see all my favorite Nashville bands play to rooms packed with good friends, sweaty bodies, and flying beer cans. While nothing can ever compare to smokey Springwater impromptus, The Freakin’ Weekend (which is about to take over Nashville for the third year in a row), and Rat Trap House shows, I really can’t complain too much, considering how often I get to see some of my favorite familiar faces. Last week, Keith and I were able to catch both JEFF the Brotherhood shows – The first was at Death by Audio with Hunters (you can see my photos from the show on Brooklyn Vegan), and the second was at Terminal 5 with The Kills (my photos from which are also posted on BV) – and tonight, Natural Child is playing at Cake Shop with several Brooklyn locals. I would really recommend not missing out on this one! It will definitely sell out, so be sure to get there early.

Here are a few shots of The Dear Hunter performing at Bowery Ballroom as part of Anthony Green’s ongoing Beautiful Things Tour. The tour, which includes The Dear Hunter on the bill throughout, will continue across the U.S. through the end of June. Anthony Green’s video for “Get Yours While You Can,” the first single off of his second solo effort Beautiful Things (via Photo Finish Records), is now premiering on both MTV and MTVU (on air). The video was filmed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and directed by Isaac Ravishankara. I had the pleasure of being a part of the video, and you can see me riding my Volume Vandal around Anthony as he lays dead on the ground. The entire time all I was thinking about was not running Anthony over, especially as the director wanted me as close as possible when I did the footjam to fakie to slider and again when I had to fake eat it into an invisible wall. Fortunately, I did not run Anthony over and actually had a really good time filming this. Both Anthony and Isaac were so incredibly awesome to work with. Anthony is seriously one of the most humble and nicest people you’ll ever meet and Isaac was just an all around positive guy. So go check out the video! You can also catch Anthony backed by Good Old War and accompanied by The Dear Hunter performing on his ongoing Beautiful Things Tour. I shot his recent sold out show in New York, so expect some photos from that soon. Hit the jump for a full list of tour dates.

Anthony will also begin his U.S. tour, accompanied by The Dear Hunter, on January 13th. Tickets for the Beautiful Things Tour are only available when you pre-order the album. I’m also really excited to announce that I have a part in the music video for “Get Yours While You Can,” so keep a lookout for me riding in it!
