Relient K made their third appearance on the Vans Warped Tour this year. The Christian pop rock band from Canton, Ohio will be on for the rest of the tour, with the exception of the Orlando Florida (July 29) date. Throughout the day, as I was rushing back and forth between the Teggart Main Stage and the Nintendo DS Stage, I repeatedly passed by the Kia Kevin Says Stage. For those who don’t know, this is the founder’s stage and features Kevin Lyman’s personal picks (hence the “Kevin Says”). Every time I passed, I simply hurriedly sped by, glancing over, ultimately choosing not to stop. It’s nothing at all against the bands playing on that stage, but I was typically on my way to catch the first three songs of a main stage performance, and didn’t feel compelled enough to stop and miss my scheduled shoot. Less Than Jake are quite well known for their sound that fuses pop punk and ska. They’ve been around for a while, and while their age definitely shows it, they still kept the energy high, and the crowd excited, entertained, and engaged throughout their set. At one point they actually brought a kid up from the pit and shaved his head into a mohawk on stage. Be sure to check out the full photo set on my Flickr.

At this point, I’m sure you’ve, at the very least, heard of Against Me!, a punk group from Gainesville, Florida. It was interesting finally seeing them live. They’ve been around for a while now, since the late 90′s, though I always remember them for the music video for “Don’t Lose Touch,” one of the singles off of their third album (Searching for a Former Clarity, 2005); you know, that badass and very energetic music video they filmed in reverse?
